Event Details

Join Tucson Modernism Week for a special evening celebrating the acquisition of the Bondante House and the opening of the special exhibit Charles Clement Designer–Craftsman,  honoring one of Tucson’s most inventive twentieth-century artists and designers.

Designed in 1956 by Charles Clement for his sister-in-law Mary Bondante and her husband Aldo, the Bondante House stands as a example of desert modernism, integrating art, architecture, and craftsmanship into a unified vision of modern livable life in Tucson.

The event marks the first public opening of the house since its preservation and showcases original artworks, ceramics, and design material drawn from the Clement Archives. Together, they reveal the breadth of Clement’s creative practice and his influence on the region’s artistic and architectural identity.

Guests will enjoy a rare opportunity to experience this exceptional modernist residence and exhibition presented by the Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation.

Exhibition Hours:
Open Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM throughout Tucson Modernism Week.
The Bondante House will also host the Tucson Modernism Week Bookshop.
